A Cowboy for the CEO

When a careless mistake forces Manhattan financier and champion show jumper Alejandra Barros into a posh Colorado rehab facility as a term of keeping her jet-setting job, the perfectly chiseled abs of a local cowboy might be intriguing enough to make the workaholic reassess her priorities. But Ali doesn't count on hot-as-hell ranch hand Hank Mathis being just as physically and emotionally damaged as she is, even if he's a lot better than her at hiding it.

These polar opposites will first need to be honest with themselves - and then with each other - to not only start to heal, but to also forge a relationship outside of Pebble Creek Lodge that's worth fighting for. Otherwise, Ali and Hank will risk losing the one thing that could truly make them happy: each other.

About the Author

I write strong yet relatable heroines, flawed but redeemable heroes, and the occasional villain you'll love to hate. I like to subvert tropes to create original ways of looking at the familiar. Common elements include intriguing settings, art and architecture; exploration of immortality (both literal and figurative); hiding symbolism in plain sight; ending chapters with kick-ass cliffhangers; and centering girls who rescue themselves.

I'm slightly obsessed with Pachelbel’s Canon, but not so much with splitting infinitives. An art historian by training and a senior financial administrator by trade, I've worked at universities across three continents. My native language of Hungarian has been only slightly more useful than my other obscure skill of quoting THE PRINCESS BRIDE, but being a Wattpad Star and Featured author with over 6 million combined reads across various genres has given me the opportunity to write commissioned shorts for THE GALLOWS and CRIMSON PEAK movie promotional campaigns and Hulu's THE HANDMAID'S TALE.

As the winner of the inaugural XOXOAfterDark.com flash-fiction contest, Pocket Star Books published my debut contemporary romance THE LAST RESORT in March 2017. I'm also a featured author in the Gallery Books fairy-tale retelling anthology ONCE UPON NOW and the first book in my Pirate King series PLUNDER was released as an audiobook by Hachette. My zombies-in-Venice historical THE PLAGUE DOCTOR'S DAUGHTER won a Watty in 2021 and I was in the inaugural Creators and YONDER cohorts.
